Each branch has a specific purpose that is outlined below.
Branches are generally considered the tools of which the Emperor uses to maintain order
and justice in the Galaxy. The vast majority of Imperials serve in one of the five current
branches. The Emperor, however, has the authority to create and disband branches at his
will.
Commission for the Preservation of the New Order
Formed by Emperor Trey Connel to act as the stalwart defender of Imperial security and
society, the Commission is lead by a civilian known as the Grand Vizier. The primary
purpose of the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order (COMPNOR) is to defend,
develop, and propagate the fundamentals and civic influence of the New Order. To achieve
this, COMPNOR consists of several departments which are, but not limited too, the Imperial
Security Bureau, the Sub-Adult-Group, the Imperial Academy, and the Coalition of Progress.
Though it has adherents and members from across the galaxy, it is Coruscant itself, the
Imperial Capital World, which COMPNOR calls home.
Imperial Research and Design
Imperial Research and Design was created to conduct scientific projects in the fields of
research and development. Imperial Research and Design is lead by a civilian known as the
Director of Imperial Research and Design. Imperial Research and Design has many purposes,
but the first and foremost is to improve existing technology through scientific research.
Its headquarters is located in the Berchest System, very near to the famed colleges of
Obroa-Skai.
Imperial Army
Drawn from the planetary and system militias of past fractionalized Republican holdings upon the creation of the Empire, the Imperial Army was graced with an unprecedented revitalization and expansion under the nurturing and firm hand of the Imperial Government. The primary concern of the Imperial Army is land and terrestrial warfare. Which includes being versed in many forms of ground warfare and being able to defend Imperial held systems across the galaxy. Each Sector has its own Army garrison, which is commanded by the Sector Moff and the Sector’s Surface Marshall.
Imperial Navy
Formed upon the creation of the Empire, the Imperial Navy serves the Empire as its chief protector in space warfare. Using the combination of highly trained personnel and up-to-date vessels, such as the Imperial Star Destroyer and Carrack Light Cruiser, makes the Imperial Navy an iron arm of the Empire. Each Sector contains its own Sector Fleet which is commanded by the Sector Moff and the Sector’s High Admiral.
Imperial Intelligence
A centralized intelligence body formed by Emperor Connel and further refined through the
efforts of the succeeding years, the primary mission of Imperial Intelligence is to monitor
external threats and to maintain a pro-active stance with regard to galactic security.
Imperial Intelligence is lead by a civilian known as the Director of Imperial Intelligence.
There are many other purposes of Imperial Intelligence, however among the chief duties are:
monitoring and reporting groups that are hostile towards the Empire; performing
counter-intelligence operations; analyzing data; and monitoring new arrivals to the Empire
and ensuring that the acceptance policy is upheld. Its primary datanodes and clearing
houses are rumored to be directly connected to the Imperial Palace, inside the Coruscant
System.
