Ladies and Gentlemen:
The time has come to share with you something that has given me great joy over the past several months. My lone regret is that I was unable to share this information with you all sooner. As you know, I recently held an Empire-wide contest to name my flagship. None other than our own General Tarrok of the ISB suggested the winning submission, “Praetor”.
While many of us have our private little vices, I myself suffer from the sin of excess. The Imperial Star Destroyer is the iron fist of the Navy, but the fist would not do. I needed the whole arm, I needed the whole body, and I needed something bigger. Working in great secrecy with our top scientists and military advisors I have commissioned the design and construction of the largest warship the Universe has ever seen. This ship, this mobile command station, will serve to enforce the will of the Emperor throughout space.
Obviously I cannot give away specifics, but rest assured that this “Super” ship is several times larger than our current Ships-of-the-Line. It will be commanded by the finest Naval Officers and crewed by the best of the best. Where this ship lies at anchor, the Empires Will is absolute.
Currently under construction, the commissioning date is a closely guarded secret. The location of the shipyards being used is also a Top Secret affair. The closer the date comes, the more signs you will see of the behemoth. And when the Praetor takes to open space for its maiden voyage, General Tarrok will accompany me on the bridge.
